Our Services

American River Speech Therapy is an established private practice based in Gold River, California, proudly serving the greater Sacramento area. We specialize in speech and language therapy for children and young adults, from birth through age 22.

Our services are available in person at our clinic or through convenient teletherapy sessions. In addition to working directly with families, we also partner with local school districts offering consultation services and staff support to help meet the diverse communication needs of students.

Individual

We offer one-on-one speech and language therapy sessions tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. Our services support a wide range of communication challenges, including speech sound disorders, language delays, stuttering, voice disorders, social communication difficulties, and more. Each session is personalized, engaging, and designed to help your child build confidence and communication skills in a supportive environment. We work closely with families to set meaningful goals and celebrate every step of progress.

Group

Our small group sessions are designed to help children build social communication skills in a fun, supportive setting. These sessions focus on real-life social interactions-like taking turns, reading body language, starting conversations, and working together with peers. Eeach group is thoughtfully matched by age and communication level to encourage connection, confidence, and meaningful growth. It's a great way for kids to practice communication while making new friends!

AAC

We provide comprehensive Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) services for children who benefit from additional support to express themselves. Our AAC offerings include personalized device assessments, programming and customization to fit each child's communication needs, and hands-on training for families and caregivers. We believe in empowering both the child and their support team, so we work closely with parents to ensure they feel confident using AAC tools at home, school, and in the community. Feeding Therapy

At American River Speech Therapy, we offer specialized evaluation and treatment for children experiencing feeding and swallowing difficulties. Whether your child is a picky eater, has trouble transitioning to new textures, or has difficulty with the motor skills nescessary for safe feeding, we're here to help. Our approach is gentle, family- entered, and tailored to each child's unique needs. We work closely with families to build safe, positive mealtime experiences and support healthy relationships with food and around mealtimes.

IEE

We provide Independent Educational Evaluations (IEEs) in the area of speech and language. If you're seeking a second opinion regarding your child's communication needs through the IEP process, we provide thorough, unbiased assessments that are individualized and evidence-based. Our evaluations include detailed reports, collaboration with school teams, and clear recommendations to support your child's success. We also take time to guide families through the process and ensure they feel informed and supported during the process.

We're committed to empowering caregivers and teams with the tools and knowledge they need to support each child's success.

CEU Provider

American River Speech Therapy is proud to be an approved provider of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for speech-language pathologists and related professionals. We offer engaging, evidence-based trainings designed to support professional growth and clinical excellence. Whether you're looking to deepen your knowledge in a specific area or stay current with best practices, our CEU courses are created with practical application and real-world relevance in mind.

Payment

We are partnered with several insurance plans (Kaiser, Cigna), Alta Regional Center and accept private pay,
including FSA/HSA accounts

Private Pay

Client

  • We can provice a Superbill upon request to assist with insurance reimbursement.
  • It is the client's responsibility to verify reimbursement eligibility with their insurance provider and submit all required documentation directly to them.
  • Payment is due at the time of service

Third Party Payors ( Kaiser, Cigna, etc)

  • -Health plan co-payments and/or deductibles may apply and are due at the time of service.
